Voltaik Power signs a supply contract with Bayernwerk Natur via Otark, in less than three weeks

Before → With Otark

Before

Solar power with a traceable origin

Voltaik Power wanted to buy electricity from a specific plant for its residential and small business customers, rather than relying on guarantees of origin alone.

Laborious search for partners

Making a PPA request on your own means many one-on-one conversations with operators and offers with differing terms, volumes and contract models.

Opaque market

Which producers are available at all and what is customary in the market is hard to gauge from the outside. Offers are difficult to compare.

Does the plant match the demand?

It often only becomes clear late on that plant and demand do not fit together. The search usually takes more time than the closing itself.

With Otark

Targeted tender

Technology, term and delivery start were turned into a tender that describes exactly what Voltaik Power needs.

Placed precisely in the provider network

Otark placed the request with producers whose plants fundamentally matched the demand, instead of broadly with every operator.

Several offers, pre-qualified

Otark obtained several competing offers and pre-qualified them. Bayernwerk Natur emerged as the right partner.

Signed after 17 days

Because demand and offer already matched, the conversation after the introduction went straight to closing. Signed on 25 September 2026.

Conclusion

Why this PPA is unusual

PPA announcements almost always read: Corporation X buys power from operator Y. Here, the household stands at the end of the chain. The power from Bayernwerk Natur’s plant goes via a supplier to many individual residential and small business customers instead of one large offtaker.

For suppliers, this is a way to stand out from pure tariff offers backed by guarantees of origin: a specific plant, a specific location, a site where sheep graze as well.

What this project shows:

PPAs are not reserved for large industrial offtakers. Even a family business with a broadly diversified residential customer portfolio can quickly find a suitable producer through a targeted tender, provided demand and offer already match before the first conversation.

Voices on the closing

What the parties say

The coordination via Otark was very professional and the process extremely targeted. In terms of content, it is especially nice to see that power from PPAs can end up not only in industry, but also with private consumers!

With a PPA, most of the time often goes not into the contract, but into finding the right counterpart. When demand and offer already match before the first conversation, there is not much left to clarify for the closing.

When we bring together two companies that simply fit in such a short time, matchmaking is especially fun. Voltaik Power wanted to be able to show its customers where their power comes from, and Bayernwerk Natur had exactly the right plant for it. It was a fit from the very start.
