Senior Product Manager – PPA & Energy Trading Platform (m/f/d)
At Otark, we're accelerating the energy transition. Our platform is the operating system for procuring renewable electricity (solar & wind), connecting corporate buyers, direct marketers, and traders. We're building the infrastructure on which green power will be traded, settled, and certified in the future — from the PPA Marketplace and a spot exchange to fully automated contract closing.
To make that happen, we're looking for a product manager who truly understands the energy market: someone who knows how a PPA runs from origination to settlement, how a balancing group works, and ideally how the mechanics behind trades look. You'll be the driving force behind our three core products, turning regulatory and trading complexity into elegant, usable software.
Your tasks
Product ownership across three products
You own and sharpen our three core products — the PPA Marketplace (our PPA procurement platform), Green SPOT (our spot exchange for green power), and 1-Click PPA (fully automated PPA closing). You understand how these products work together and evolve them strategically.
Translate the energy domain
You translate the reality of the energy market — PPA settlement, balancing group management, spot and forward trading — into clear product requirements. You are the interface between market, customer, and engineering.
Customer discovery with professionals, as an equal
You hold in-depth conversations with corporate buyers, direct marketers, and traders. Because you speak their language, you recognize the real pain points behind what they say.
Strategy & roadmap
You own your features like a “mini-CEO” — from the first idea through domain validation to go-live — and prioritize along real market and customer value.
High-efficiency handoff
You work closely with our engineering team and deliver no vague tickets, but precisely thought-through, domain-validated requirements. Where it's faster, you build prototypes yourself (see AI workflow).
Your profile
Energy domain knowledge (central)
You bring solid experience in the energy market and understand how the pieces fit together — PPA structures and their settlement, balancing group management, spot and/or forward trading. You don't have to be a specialist in every detail, but you're the all-rounder who grasps the bigger picture.
Trading & settlement as a strong plus
Experience in power trading and trade settlement (trading & settlement) is a big advantage and clearly makes your application stand out.
Product DNA
You've already worked as a product manager or product owner and brought products from idea to market. You think in user problems, not feature lists.
Analytical powerhouse
You have an extremely quick grasp and a sharp mind. You love diving deep into complex regulatory or trading topics and simplifying them.
AI as a tool
You're open to working with modern AI tools (e.g. Claude Code or comparable AI agents) to quickly validate ideas and build prototypes. A basic understanding of web frontends (HTML/CSS/JS) is a plus — we'll teach you the rest.
Languages
German at native level (mandatory for working with German customers) and absolutely fluent English.
